Updates

December 11th OK, I'm (finally) back with that new editorial. This one will hopefully be of some use, since everyone seems to be going insane lately about Season 3. Also, I've added a slew of new "Links by Request," so if you asked me to link you within the last... oh, two months or so, it's time to face the music! Also fixed some of the dead links in the section. And last but not least, 7 new opinion essays!

By the way, hit #30,000 came this week... And guess what? THE HALF-EATEN BOX OF JUJUBES HAS FINALLY BEEN CLAIMED!!! The poor sap said this: "If you actually want to send the jujube's, here's my address :) If not, I'll understand." What do you think, I actually WANT these things?? I've been trying to get rid of these vile little candies for months! Oh you'll get them all right. You'll get them.

Now leave me alone, I got sick last night and must recuperate. Man, I hate being sick...

November 30th I'm sorry, I know I was supposed to have an update done today, but I just didn't have time. I am unbelievably busy at the moment. The end of the semester is coming and school is reaching fever pitch, I had to finish and send in my UC application stuff, Thanksgiving came along and stole a few days, I just went on a (totally unexpected) trip to Arizona, and I'm being bogged down by my job, to go along with the mountain of homework and other school crap I have to do. At this point, I'm regretting having promised an update for today, but there's not much I can do about it now. Oh well, that was my mistake. (Hey, I did really well for the first three months at least!) Anyway, I'll be back within the next week or so, and I've got some fairly cool stuff for you. Nothing truly awesome, but don't worry, it'll be worth the wait! One final note for now: Ed "DBZ For the Needy" Gorgen's e-mail address has changed. I've updated it in the section, and make sure you send your entries to the right address.
November 8th MY FRIENDS, I HAVE RETURNED!! Well, sort of. Things aren't totally straightened out yet, but they are enough so that I can at least do a respectable update. This time with an incredibly, unbelievably, super-important editorial that you must read NOW! Also, four new opinion essays. Hey, I've been gone for a long time, you guys deserve something big and meaty to chew on. (Wow, that was a rather disgusting-sounding proposition.)
October 24 Sorry guys! I hate to put that "Last Update- October 24th" on the index page and get your hopes up, but this isn't actually a real update. I just wanted to check in and let you all know that I'm still alive, and that I'll be returning to work on this site within the next few weeks. Just wanted to let you all know so that you don't abandon the site entirely. Ed tells me that, except for a few minor problems, DBZ For the Needy is going well, so keep your entries coming. I've also added a new rule (see #5), so make sure you read it before entering, (or re-entering.) And one last thing, if you watch DBZ on Cartoon Network, don't forget that it moves to 6 p.m. starting this Monday.

See you soon!

Next Update To be quite honest, I have no idea when that's going to be. I felt that I had a commitment to get DBZ For the Needy up and running, and now that it's up.... well, I don't know. It's not just that I'm busy again with school, work, etc., but I am going through a very, VERY awful time in my life at the moment. This last month has been one of the worst ever, and I don't see things improving anytime soon. Keep in touch, though, hopefully things will be back together before too long, but for now, I can no longer concentrate on this site. Thank you all for visiting, and keep the e-mail and opinion essays coming. I may not be able to respond to your mail, but I'll hang on to any essays I get until I am ready to get to work on this site again. Wish me luck everybody, I need it!
September 28th DBZ For the Needy is officially up and running now! Be sure to enter if you are one of those unfortunate souls who hasn't seen the original Japanese version.
September 27th Added three new opinion essays, and that's about it. I will be (finally) putting up the details and rules for DBZ For the Needy at some point during the week, but I don't know when. It's just a matter of me getting in touch with Ed Gorgen (my e-mail server is down AGAIN!! AAAGGHHH!!!) so that he can give me final confirmation on the specifics. Hopefully, I'll have this up by Tuesday or so.
September 20th Not much new this time, except this week's (late) editorial. Be sure to read it, it's very important!

By the way, if there are any amateur astronomers out there, YOU'VE GOT TO CHECK OUT JUPITER!! And do it this week, since it's a new moon, making Jove the brightest object in the sky (Except, of course, for those pesky UFO's). If you live in the Northern latitudes, Jupiter will be rising in the East at twilight, at a magnitude of -2.5 (very bright!)

September 13th Sorry guys, but I'm going to have to put the next update off for a week. School started a few days ago, I'm looking for a place to live... It just isn't a good time, I'm super busy.
September 6th Well folks, this is it! Episodes 34 and 35, the very last ones (until Season 3 airs) are now up. Also, there are a few other bits and pieces...let's see... two opinion essays and...

I know there was something else...

Oh yeah! THE INTERVIEW WITH PETER KELAMIS!!! YAY!

August 30th Episodes 31-33, and Season two finishes up with episodes 66 and 67. There's also a new editorial, and that exciting announcement I've been promising. Click on DBZ For the Needy on the "E-mail" page to find out more. (Or just use the link right there, duh!)

Interviews? Good news! I e-mailed Peter and Michael and neither of them are ignoring me! Turns out that they are both just very busy at the moment, but they'll get the questions answered as soon as possible. I know this has taken a lot longer than anyone expected, but I think it's safe to say that all three of us are doing everything we can to get the interviews up, so just bear with the situation, I'm just as anxious as you are to read what they have to say!

August 23rd Episodes 29, 30, and 63-65. I FINALLY put that editorial up, sorry about saying it would be up last Monday, I just kept putting it off. There's three new opinion pages, really good ones too!, and my new policy on link submissions. Please read about it in the links section of the Introduction, and check the links page, because I've changed it slightly.

I have now e-mailed both Peter Kelamis and Michael Donovan to ask them what the heck is keeping them, and I'll keep you updated on this oh-so-frustrating situation.

By the way, what's with this "Top 50 Anime Sites" thing that's suddenly popping up on everyone's DB page? Hmm... maybe I should jump on the... Nah!

August 16th Episodes 26-28, and 61, 62.

Oh, and I said something about having jury duty this week, and I did. Believe it or not, I actually ended up one of the lucky 12 (well, 13 if you count the alternate). We were hung unfortunately, (one of us was a moron), but it was an experience that I will surely never forget. That's a whole story in itself though, and you don't want to get me started. All I can say is, don't try to weasel out if you are ever summoned, there's a lot to be learned by going through with it.

August 9th Episodes 24, 25, and 58-60. That's about it. Interviews? I don't know where they are any more than you do. I'm getting a little nervous to be perfectly honest. I hope these guys get back to me, they said they would, after all...
August 5th Episodes 21-23 and 56, 57, and a new editorial.

Alright, you're probably asking, "Hey Chris, where the HFIL are those interviews??" I wish I knew myself, actually. I sent them off several days ago, and haven't yet gotten a reply from either Michael or Peter. But don't worry, I'm sure they're just taking their time, and answering the questions as well as they can. I hope that's the case anyway...

But I promise to put them up the second I get them, I won't wait until the next update, so keep an eye on the site!

Oh yes, and thanks to everyone who sent in questions, I couldn't have done it without you!

July 26th Episodes 19, 20 and 53-55.
July 18th Episodes 16-18 and 41, 52, a new editorial, and two new opinion pages.
IMPORTANT!! I'm going to be housesitting from Saturday the 18th to Saturday the 25th. PARTY!!! Heh, just kidding. Anyway, you're probably asking So? What does that have to do with ME?? What that means is that the interviews will have to be held over for one more week, (boo!) that this week's update is a day early (yay!) and that next weeks update will be minimal at best, and may be a day or so late (boo!). The good news is that if you haven't gotten your interview questions to me yet, you still have time, and the bad news is you'll have to wait another week to read the responses. Oh well, it'll be nice to get away from this damned machine for a while, see you guys when I get back!
July 12th Episodes 14, 15 and 48-50, plus a mini-FAQ (click on "e-mail" on the front page to read it.) Also, I decided that I will update "at some point Sunday" from now on. Having that "commitment" to midnight just isn't cool! And one more IMPORTANT thing... I need your help! Please read this for the details.
July 5th Episodes 11-13 and 46, 47, Three NEW opinion pages, a list of the Japanese and English cast members, a Japanese to English episode conversion guide, and an editorial that I think many of you will find quite interesting. (Whew!) Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!
June 28th Episodes 9, 10 and 43-45. Movie #2.
June 23rd Episodes 6-8 and 41, 42, editorial. And by the way, I fixed the link for Episode 5. WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME IT WAS BROKEN?? I feel so unimportant (sniff, pout). Seriously, guys, I can't stand when there are problems like that on my site. Sometimes I just don't check thoroughly enough. PLEASE let me know next time, k?
June 14th Episodes 4,5 and 38-40, editorial. Nothing too exciting, I'm afraid. Also, I moved all my images to another server because I was having bandwidth/speed problems. It seems to be working OK.
June 7th After 9 months, my baby is finally born! Nice to be here at last! Every section is ready, and episodes 1-3 and 36,37 are up.
May 15th Trashed the old page, and started from scratch once again. I can't be satisfied, I tells ya.
January '98 thru end of May 6 months which shall be forever remembered as the Semester From Hell. Laughed once or twice about the idea of actually having time to work on this site.
October thru December Did a little here and there. Put quite a bit of effort into the complete episode guide, an idea which I have since scrapped because it's just too much work, and there's a better one in production anyway. So, basically it was all wasted time. Great.
October Didn't like the way things were coming along, so I started over.
September '97 Sometime during this month, the idea for this site planted its insidious seed in my mind. Wrote the first line of code on or around the 15th.
