(15 sec.) Princess Snake comes to check on Goku while he is bathing and sees... his butt sticking out of the water! The English version cuts in just as he comes up for air, and then cuts away again for the next few seconds. Goku gets out of the water, and walks away nonchalantly, butt naked the whole time. Girls, you are missing OUT! I'm talking full posterial nudity here!! This is a rather historic moment, there is not a single scene in all of the Dragon Ball series, before or after this point, that shows Goku, or anyone else for that matter, quite this... uh... naked. FUNimation has now deprived us of Goku's cute li'l booty.

(45 sec.) As Goku is attempting to leave, and the others are looking for ways to stall him, one of the Snake Princess' attendants takes out a rather large revolver, puts one bullet in it, spins the cylinder, points the gun at her head, and pulls the trigger. The odds are against her, unfortunately, and she falls to the floor. Don't worry, it's not as graphic as it sounds. I don't even think it kills her, these snake chicks aren't quite human. Anyway, I have no idea what the hell is going on here, to be honest. I listened to this scene several times, but I just couldn't quite get what they were saying. Goku is always kind of hard to understand, he has a wierd dialect, and the snake girl was talking REALLY fast. Oh well, if anyone knows what the dialogue here is, please let me know, I'm very curious. UPDATE: 12-31-00 - Over the 2 and a half years since I originally posted this, I have gotten dozens of e-mails from people telling me that the snake girl is playing Russian Roulette. That I knew from the outset, I just didn't use those exact words. My confusion was with why she chose this as a way to stall Goku... it just doesn't make sense. The dialogue here, I'm told, is basically pretty straightforward and doesn't help to explain: "Here's a game that will send chills down your spine!" and so on. Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter. I just needed to make one last note about this because although I've been getting a steady stream of email about it since I first put the episode up, my laziness proved a powerful foe and I left it alone. But for some strange reason, there has been a huge upsurge in "THIS IS WHAT THE SNAKE GIRL IS DOING!" e-mails during the last two weeks or so, and I figured it was time to put them to rest once and for all. As far as why the cut itself occured, that's fairly obvious. The funny thing about the entire Dragon Ball series is that no one EVER dies or gets seriously injured when they are shot with guns, they just cause some bruises here and there. This is, of course, seen as a big, BIG, no no as far as what it suggests to children. But really, find me a kid old enough to pull a gun's trigger who DOESN'T know what a gunshot will do to a human being.
